The level of success of your referral group is directly related to your referral leader team. Teams with strong, motivated, active leaders usually perform quite well because they set the expectations and tone of the group, and hold all accountable. When appointing a new leader to the group leader team look for these three qualities…
1. Good Communicator: Good communication skills go a long way in group leaders ability to facilitate meetings, communicate with guests, and distill the group’s core practices, rules, and reasons for them.
2. Active Networker: The best leaders are often the more active members. The reasons are simple, 1) they understand networking, what’s required and can educate others, and 2) they understand the power of these groups and benefit to themselves when the group is well managed.
3. Friendly, but Disciplined: It’s important that group leaders are friendly but also disciplined, the success of a group is tied to this. Chemistry in a group and the disciplined nature of the group are aided by group leaders that are friendly but stern in holding all accountable to the rules.
Put good leaders in place and you will see a fun, active, engaged group!
